EDUCATION PROJECTS

Innes Construction has been doing school projects for over 30 years. We have completed projects everywhere from new buildings to completely gutting and remodeling the inside of schools. Because of our ability to self-perform a lot of the critical path items on a schedule, we can get the kids back into school on time.

UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGY CENTER

This 15,000 square foot structure has caricature written all over it. It is a two story building with the laboratory being build with stamped brick precast concrete panels. The two story office area was built with a structural steel frame and structural metal stud framing. The outside finish is a combination of face brick and architectural precast stone. We have completed several projects over the years on the campus of the University of North Dakota and it is always an honor and a privilege to be able to work on any project to help grow our future.

CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL ADDITION/REMODEL

The Central High School project consisted of three different areas. The first was a 9,000 square foot gymnasium addition with wood gym flooring, CMU block walls for the lockers, and some retractable bleachers. The second was a 10,000 square foot addition performing arts classrooms. This was a two story addition with the new band room being open to the second floor. The first was a complete guy and remodel of the 13,000 square foot theater. With all the different areas happening at the same time, coordination was the key to having this successful project. Both JLG Architects and the Grand Forks School District worked great with us to bring this vision alive for the kids.

MINTO SCHOOL ADDITION

We Have done a couple additions to the school in Minto, ND. The latest one consisted of two different additions at the same time. The first was a 5,000 square foot classroom addition. Two of the classrooms were sciences labs, so we installed lab equipment and casework throughout both of those rooms. The second addition was a 3,500 square foot office addition. Everyone from Foss Architecture, the Minto School Board, and the Minto School system was great to work for on the first addition we did, so we were excited for the opportunity to work with them again on this project.

SWEETWATER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This project had a lot of moving parts to it, and the team of Icon Architectural Group, Devils Lake School District, and Innes Construction worked great together. We started with the foundations for the new 15,000 square foot classroom addition right away in the Spring. Once school was out for Summer break, we went inside the existing school and did the 17,000 square foot remodel to get that area ready for school in the Fall. During that time, we continued the classroom addition and started the 15,000 square foot gym addition. We completed both additions together for the next school year. This was a fun project, with a great team to work with.
