RESTAURANT PROJECTS

Because of our vast experience in different building types, we have been one of the top contractors when it comes to restaurants in and around the Grand Forks area. We have built several restaurants from the ground up, while also doing major renovation projects of existing buildings for restaurant owners.

HARRY'S STEAKHOUSE

Hal Gershman’s dad opened a restaurant on this exact location in 1944. In 2018, Hal wanted to turn this location back into a restaurant. After extensive planning by the entire design team, Innes went in and gutted the inside, raise the roof 7 feet, installed new 1940’s style Chicago brick walls inside, state-of-the-art HVAC, lighting, and kitchen equipment, Opening in the fall of 2021 and being voted Grand Forks Heralds 2022 Best Restaurant, 2022 Best Steakhouse, and 2022 Best Desserts. Innes Construction was honored to bring the Gershman’s vision to life. Thanks Hal & Kathy for a great project.

DAIRY QUEEN

Innes Construction has completed two Dairy Queen projects in Grand Forks. The first location, at 3600 S Columbia Road, was a new building on a new lot. The 3,500 square foot building was constructed out of CMU block and metal bar joist. The second location, at 1205 S Washington Street, was a tear down of the old Dairy Queen and rebuilt a new building on the same existing lot. This 2,500 square foot building was also a CMU block building with metal bar joist. Careful coordination had to be done with the City of Grand Forks when we were tying into South Washington Street to close the lane and redirect traffic.

PARADISO

For over 20 years, Innes Construction has been doing work for Paradiso chain. We have completed anything from minor remodels to new restaurants. Paradiso restaurants are currently located in Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck, Jamestown, and Minto. No matter the project, big or small, we have always tried to take care of our returning customers. Keeping business open during projects is always a challenge, but we at Innes know how important that is to them, and have always tried to minimize the closures.

GREEN MILL

The 7,500 square foot building had some challenges right off the bat, with design and bidding running late into the fall. Innes Construction was forced to get the foundation for this building in during the cold weather. We had to pull out the ground thaw machines and insulated blankets from the beginning. Pushing hard, 6 days a week to minimize the cold weather exposure. Innes was able to get the foundation in and backfilled on time so the remaining building structure could be constructed during the winter months, and get the building completed and turned over on time.
