EDUCATION PROJECTS
Innes Construction has been doing education builds for over 30 years. We have completed projects everywhere from new buildings to completely gutting and remodeling the inside of schools. Because of our ability to self-perform a lot of the critical path items on a schedule, we can get the kids back into school on time.
UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA HYDROGEN TECHNOLOGY CENTER
This 15,000-square-foot facility is full of character and thoughtful design. The two-story structure features a laboratory built with stamped brick precast concrete panels, while the adjoining office area utilizes a structural steel frame with structural metal stud framing. The exterior showcases a refined blend of face brick and architectural precast stone. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of completing several projects on the University of North Dakota campus, and it’s always an honor to contribute to spaces that support the growth and success of future generations in our community.
CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
ADDITION + REMODEL
The Central High School project included three major components: a 9,000-square-foot gymnasium addition featuring wood flooring, CMU block locker rooms, and retractable bleachers; a 10,000-square-foot, two-story performing arts addition with an open-concept band room; and a complete renovation of the 13,000-square-foot theater. With multiple areas under construction simultaneously, coordination was essential to the project’s success. JLG Architects and the Grand Forks School District were excellent partners in bringing this vision to life for the students.
MINTO SCHOOL ADDITION
Innes Construction has done a couple additions to the school in Minto, ND. One project consisted of two different additions at the same time. The first was a 5,000 square foot classroom addition with two of the classrooms being sciences labs that required lab equipment and casework to be installed throughout both of those rooms. The second addition was a 3,500 square foot office addition. This was made possible due to the collaboration between Foss Architecture, the Minto School Board, and the Minto School system.
SWEETWATER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
This project involved many moving parts, and the team from Icon Architectural Group, the Devils Lake School District, and Innes Construction worked closely together to keep everything on track. We began in the spring with foundations for the new 15,000-square-foot classroom addition. Once school let out for summer, we moved inside to complete a 17,000-square-foot remodel, finishing in time for students’ return in the fall. During that same period, work continued on the classroom addition and began on the new 15,000-square-foot gym addition. Both additions were completed in time for the following school year. It was a rewarding project made possible by a great team effort.
